F18 Raid Worlds at Costarmoricaine: 2023 Title goes to Burvill-Puttman

Big hug after finishing

Tight results from the beginning to the end

Similar to Fleet Worlds recently sailed in Travemünde, 2023 F18 Raid Worlds gave rise to a close and tense battle at the head of the fleet, and at the back as well…

One can judge from the timing: three first finishing boats within 4 seconds arriving in Bréhat Island, 2 minutes between top three in Leg 2, 15 boats crossing the line within 2 minutes arriving in Saint Quay Portrieux, and a single second separating the second from the third at the start of the last leg, the suspense for Raid Worlds Title lasted to the very end…

After a tense tacking battle close to the rocks from Cap Fréhel to Cap d’Erquy, Brett Burvil and Max Puttman (Windrush Edge) won the fifth and last leg, confirming their leadership, and finishing first overall, completing the Costarmoricaine course in 15:40:48, 5 minutes and 47 seconds ahead Victorien Erussard/Frédéric Moreau (Goodall Akurra), their most serious contenders, together with Matteo Chevrier/Gaspard Cosse (Exploder Scorpion), finishing only 36 seconds from Energy Explorer team.
