On Sunday January 21th 2018 the 5th edition of the Martinique Cata Raid started. No less than 6 stages will be sailed in the gorgeous area of Martinique. 22 Formula 18 cats showed up at the start and after two days Orion Martin & Charles Gate [FRA] take the lead.
There’s a lot at stake for the ‘Boulogne brothers’ (Emmanuel and Vincent). After winning the event in 2013, 2016 and 2017 they are favorite, but have some tough competition this year. After two days Orion Martin and Chalres Gate did some good business winning both courses on Sunday and Monday. On Sunday Boulogne finished just behind them, but on Monday they also had to allow the Swiss theam Lutz/Schlatter and French team Champanhac/Dhallenne in front of them and ended in 4th position. On Tuesday the teams will sail the 3th course from Preacher to Fort de France.
