Tense fight whatever position in the fleet

On 12th St.Barth CataCup Day 2, the 60 competing teams started round 11:00 am, after two general recalls, for a 15 NM race from Bay of Saint-Jean to Coco Island, off the Grande Saline cove.

A leg both tactical and physical, the fault to a North-East 7 to 14 knots inconsistent wind, Jean-Christophe Mourniac and Antoine Rucard being the winners at the end. The two men, who battled for a long time to keep the head of the fleet towards the defending champions Patrick Demesmaeker and Olivier Gagliani, perfectly negotiated the second half of the course by sailing close to the cliffs, and finally won by a comfortable lead, getting the “EDEN ROCK VILLA RENTAL” trophy, presented by the event partner they actually wear the colors for the week.

Looking at the provisional ranking, French pair remains second, but reduces the gap with the Argentineans Cruz Gonzalez Smith and Mariano Heuser (Architectonik) who manage, from their side, to keep their leadership, thanks to their nice 3rd place on the day.
