On June 11th-12th 2016 in Geneve (Switzerland) the Bol d’Or Mirabaud will be sailed. The last couple of years this event had over 500 boats at the starting line and now also invited the Formula 18 class to join. An opportunity not to miss and another one for your bucketlist!
The Bol d’Or Mirabaud is organized by the Société Nautique de Genève. In 1939 this race was held for the first time and the last two decades it’s been held almost every year. Multihulls are a growing part of the fleet and the Formula 18 catamarans have not been unnoticed the last couple of years… with an invitation to join the event as a result! Check your agenda now if you can join this great event, the Notice of Race with more detailed information will be available and broadcasted soon.
The shortest distance to sail the race course is from Geneva to Le Bouveret and back in 123 kilometres or 66,5 nautical miles. Depending on the amount of breeze you can finish in the evening, but also at night or even in the early morning. All boats will be equiped with tracking devices so all friends and family can track you through the internet and see how you manage against the other multi- and monohulls.
If you’re already interested and want to have more information about the event you can check the official Bol d’Or Mirabaud website and of course the official Bol d’Or Mirabeau Facebook page. We’ll keep you posted!
