The F18 European Tour 2026 starts today in Barcelona

PRESS RELEASE – F18 EUROPEAN TOUR 2026

A new chapter is opening for the F18 class in Europe.

The F18 European Tour 2026 begins today in Barcelona with Act 1, hosted at the Barcelona International Sailing Center (BISC).

22 teams representing 10 nations are competing in this opening event, forming a strong and well-balanced fleet, with seven teams regularly ranked among the world’s top 20.

This first edition marks the creation of a structured European circuit built around four major events: Barcelona, La Rochelle, Lake Como (European Championship), and Hellevoetsluis.

The Barcelona International Sailing Center (BISC), home of the Catalan Sailing Federation, offers outstanding facilities and benefits from the legacy of Barcelona’s nautical development. With on-site accommodation, large preparation areas and an efficient launching ramp, it provides an ideal environment to start the season and fine-tune the boats.

Strong wind conditions observed ahead of the event encouraged teams to focus on preparation and tuning ashore, while the coming days are expected to bring lighter and more technical racing conditions.

Olivier Bovyn – President of the International F18 Class

“We are very pleased to see that the fleet exceeds our expectations for a first edition. This opening event provides a solid foundation to build the visibility of the Tour and to grow it sustainably in the coming years.”

Carlos G. Motta – Sailing Events Manager

“The BISC offers a unique environment in Europe, both on the water and ashore. It is an ideal venue to host an international fleet and to launch a new sailing season.”

The first points of the overall Tour ranking are now in play.

Results and highlights will be shared throughout the event.
