Rewarding the co-inventor of the Formula 18 Box Rule

If you carefully read the How Formula 18 did come on Earth dedicated page of this website, you will learn Pierre-Charles Barraud, former Technical Officer by FFVoile, has been at the very origin of the Formula 18.

After having been President of the Class Technical Committee and Head of Measurement for more than 30 years, and being now aged 83, he decided to hand over these two roles to Frédérique Pfeiffer, who actively participated in Equipment Inspection prior to European Championship recently held in Dervio.

It was the perfect moment for the Class to give his name to one of our most precious rewards, and to present accordingly a perpetual trophy to the competitors.

On top, he has been given a reduced version of the trophy, for his personal use…

Matteo and Andrea Viganò, second overall, are the first holders of the F18 Family Trophy, who will be brought back into play during 2027 Worlds to be sailed in Erquy, France.
