Open Dutch Sailing Championships 2020: the win goes to Jolbert van Dijk & Frank de Waard

A kind of revenge for Jolbert van Dijk, here with crew Frank de Waard, after he finished second in a tie with Hans & Marius Van Dam last month in Hellecat.

Both teams played once more cats and dogs, trusting bullets and second places all along the 11 sailed races and, at the end of the day, final win went to 2017 Bronze medalists at Vallensbaek Worlds, with 11 points, just ahead Van Dams son and father, second with 15 points.

Battle has been tense to take the last place on the podium, Dirk Bleiker & Fabian Syring, Wik & Rob Becker, and Jacob & Dominique Den Houting respectively getting 36, 38, and 42 points, Arjan Baas & Emma van Welij losing any chance being scored OCS in Race 10.

A friendly prize giving concluded a nice weekend for the sailors. A good ending for Open Dutch Sailing Championships 2020 organisers, after German and Belgian governments suddenly decided to declare North Holland as a Covid pandemic Red Zone.
