After receiving permission from the Dutch authorities, WSV Hoorn have decided on the “go-ahead” for the very first F18 event in the Netherlands in 2021. After many years, the Dutch fleet will return to Hoorn for a 3-days regatta, which will be held on 11-13 June on the Markermeer near Hoorn, just south of Medemblik. Online registration is open.

This event will be the main (and only) opportunity for Dutch F18 teams to prepare for the 2021 Worlds at home in a F18 around-the-cans regatta. Top teams from Germany and Belgium will join the Dutch fleet to hone their skills before sailors head of to Formia, perhaps with a stopover at Lake Garda for the 2021 German Nationals on 27-29 June.
This event in Hoorn may offer a first impression of how some of the recently introduced F18 designs, like the Nacra Evolution and the Goodall Akurra, will hold up against each other and the established F18s.
