F18 Worlds 2017 – Preparations done, it’s time to play!

Today the last day of measurements has been done and this afternoon the first practise race will be held at 15:00. For nearly 150 teams it’s a good moment to see how the boat is behaving and to get a feeling with the local circumstances. Tonight at 19:30 our well known opening ceremony will start having a flag parade with 22 different countries!!!

The Vallensbæk Sejlklub, hosting this years F18 Worlds, has much experience in international championship. “But we have stepped up to this event. We are exceeding previous ambitions on all parameters. Nearly 100 volunteers, 10.000 sqm race village including the beach and 20 RIBs” says the chairman of the club Kenneth Bøggild. He adds: “They come for great racing, and they come to have a great time, and we are prepared for both!

The program with registration and measuring started Saturday with the official opening Monday evening. After that it’s five days of serious racing and will start on Tuesday morning 11:00. The organization tries to keep us fully informed all the time.
