Finals first day has kept its promises in La Ballena Alegre

Competition has been tense in Roses Bay on the first day sailed in final series, where three races have been completed. If the expected batlle has taken place between Paschalidis-Trigonis (5, 2, 1) and Bundock-Nicholas (12, 1, 2), both teams keeping on leading the championship, it is also to notice the excellent performance from ARG pair Gonzalez Smith-Heuser (4, 3, 9), securing third place 12 points ahead 2016 World Champion Pablo Völker, crewed by Sergio Mehl, followed by six boats grouped in 9 points (Burvill-Puttman (AUS), Krevisky-Benitez (ARG), Demesmaeker-Bagué (BEL), Souben-Amiot (FRA), Parker-Brown (AUS) and Mazzuchi-Lisignoli (ITA).

By getting a 66 points UFD score in Race 8, Mitch and Ruben Booth temporarily leave the top ten, but they are likely to get back into the game, as a second discard will be granted after Race 12 to be sailed.
