Stockholm Archipelago Raid – Rosengren-Westergren leaders after day 1

image2On Thursday Aug 25th this years edition of the Stockholm Archipelago Raid started. With great winds (10-15 knots) and sunny conditions 25 international Formula 18 teams showed up at the start. Rosengren/Westergren did a good job and scored two bullets after almost 70 NM. On Friday the weather is good a gain and races will start at 10:00.

Organizer Lars Linder: “It’s nice to see that the young guys are doing well this year. Westergren (29) crewed last year winning boat and Rosengren (21) was 2nd last year. Dahl/Boden are currently 2nd overall but have Dutchies Gunnar and Lisa Larsen on their tail. Svensson/Antman (SWE 81) are the youngest participants this year and have a good first race. In the second leg, with the genaker up, they hit a rock and broke their daggerboard. They were in 6th position at that moment…., but they will be sailing on Friday!”

All sailors are excited and are looking forward to another great day of F18 raid racing. It will be an interesting day because the breeze will build during the day and it will be a long genaker course in leg 4.
