Martinique Cata Raid de facto reserved for Caribbean teams

Bad news is that, although Organising Committee decided to postpone 2021 edition from January to March, Covid Pandemic prevented boats shipping from Europe and USA to Martinique, hence the event will be reserved for Caribbean crews.

Good news is that, after a successful 2020 edition as F18 Raid Worlds, Martinique Cata Raid will be actually sailed 14-20 March 2021.

“We had postponed this decision to the maximum to give us a chance, according to the evolution of the pandemic, to organize our event in the usual format”, explains Bruno Lecomte, director of the Robert Wind Force Nautical Club. “The too many uncertainties about the arrival of riders from mainland France and abroad and the delivery of equipment, unfortunately force us to reserve the race for sailors from the Caribbean arc (St Barth, Saint Martin, Guadeloupe and Martinique)”.
“We are obviously divided between the disappointment of having to reduce the sail as the event was expected to be contested with 55 pre registered teams, and a certain satisfaction of being able, however, to maintain the event this year”.
“Whatever, and until the 2022 edition, which we hope will return to its usual format, we will do everything we can to share with all MCR fans the best moments of the upcoming edition”.
