A last day useful for all
Arrived several days ago, some crews had already taken their marks on the water… sometimes a bit too much. Between small “track trips” and last-minute DIY, everyone took advantage of this final day to leave with a sharp boat and intact motivation.

“We had some damage in training yesterday,” says Dutchman Ad Noordzij, who is sailing this year with his son Maarten. “We take advantage of this last day of preparation to put the boat back in optimal configuration. We are ready, and especially ready to have fun: that’s why we are here above all.”
Same concentration at the locals Jonah and Fenosoa Raveloson, busy with finalizing the final adjustments. “We will do a little navigation this afternoon to validate the settings. The goal: to enter the Top 25 and be the first boat in the West Indies, even if the competition will be fierce.”
Ideal conditions for a very promising edition
For Honoré “Nono” Lavaly, President of the Race Committee, the week already promises to be exceptional: “It’s a pleasure to be here. With nearly 50 boats and a very high sport level, the edition promises to be exciting all the more as the forecasts are ideal with about fifteen knots of wind throughout the week. The course area of St Barth is perfect for F18: varied, technical, it allows to create original courses. That’s what makes the beauty of this ordeal.” On the program: two races per day and a complete tour of the island, in conditions that promise spectacle and intensity.

On the eve of the first start, enthusiasm is palpable throughout the race village. With ideal conditions announced, an exceptional sporting field and a collective energy already well established, everything suggests a week of spectacular regattas, rhythmic and full of emotions. The crews are ready, the 17th St Barth Cata Cup will be simply memorable.
