As usual (see our dedicated webpage), we will provide you with detailed statistics based on the data thoroughly collected on Jervoise Bay spot by our Vice-President Steve Stroebel.

Meanwhile, find below some 2026 World Championship highlights.

A good attendance

To gather in Australia 75 teams representing 14 nations coming from 5 continents were clearly good numbers, and went quite rightly rewarding the organizers for their efforts to build up a top class event.

A perfectly organized event, in a friendly atmosphere

A huge Thank You to all JBSC volunteers and staff, with special mention to Lady Commodore Kim Lindsay and Jeanette Kinsey, as well Mark Parker, AUS F18 Chair, for a well and smoothly run event.

Big thanks too to Race Committee and International Jury for their dedicated job.

See Behind the Scenes video from Stilldroneinon Facebook page.

Australia rules F18 Sailing

Similar to Noordwijk 2025, one can only recognize clear domination of Australian teams over the rest of the F18 fleet:

  • Eight Australian Teams at the top eight places !
  • First North American Team: 9th place – Charles Froeb & Pablo Volker (USA/ARG)
  • First South American Team: 10th place – Cruz Gonzalez-Smith & Stephan Dekker (ARG/NED)
  • First European Team: 13th place – Simon Northrop & Caleb Cooper (GBR)
  • Fisrt Asian Team: 34th place – Florent Herson & Alexander Frefel (THA)

Tight results and uncertain outcome until the very end

A very disputed championship, uncertain until the very end.

Top three teams played Cat and Mouse all along the five racing days, being provisional leaders one after another, before second discard to provide final cut.

Still very balanced results between makes

Once more, no less than four different builder makes and sailmakers within the top six teams

Legends were there

The F18 Class is really proud and honoured to see faithfull sailing legends rebuilding their team aiming to gain a new World title together… And as a matter of fact, they have been pretty close to achieve their goal, leading the fleet until penultimate day, and finishing third overall !

New names coming from high performance classes

Good to see Matt Homan & Kris Bilston respectively coming from A Class and 49er successfully building a team performing at second place overall.

2025 Youth Trophy winners do confirm their talent

Congrats to Brin & Jake Liddell, 2025 Youth Trophy Winners, 4th overall, who started a Nacra 17 Olympic Campaign in parallel of their F18 career.
