2026 Worlds just about to start in Jervoise Bay, WA

A well deserved decision

Covid pandemic prevented F18 Class to visit Western Australia in 2022, but it is through a unanimous vote held early August 2024 that Jervoise Bay Sailing Club bid has been accepted for hosting 2026 Worlds.

This is well deserved, and will reward our faithful Australian teams, regularly entering our Class Championships, getting an impressive full score in Noordwijk 2025 in winning 3 first Overall, Youth, Mixed, Female Helm, and Family Titles ! No less…

A good participation level

Everything is now on track, Australian National being used by many teams as a perfect training before competing in our pinnacle event, and presenting equipment for inspection starting on Tuesday 27th January.

Close to 75 boats are registered to enter the event, which is pretty good numbers, and it is to notice a strong 5 boats delegation from USA, as well participation of teams coming from Argentina, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Netherlands, Sweden, and Thailand.

Sailing legends aiming for a fourth title

Difficult to precisely count the numerous World titles won by Darren Bundock and Glenn Ashby in both F18, A Class, or Tornado classes, not mentioning America’s Cup, Darren being actually the reigning F18 World Champion…

Whatever the case, and following 2004 Punta Ala (ITA), 2005 Hoek van Holland (NED), and 2007 Yepoon (AUS), these two fellow sailors aim to gain one more title in Jervoise Bay. Not a big surprise if they climb on the podium during Prize Giving Ceremony on 3rd February !
