Völker-Benitez take a serious lead after F18 Worlds Day 2 in Buenos Aires

After six races being sailed, and then one discard being allowed, Argentinians Pablo Völker & Juan Martin Benitez do take a serious lead at F18 Worlds hosted in Buenos Aires by Yacht Club Argentino, scoring four bullets and one 5th place, for a nett total of 9.0 pts, ahead Esteban Blando-Nicolas Quagliotti, 20.0 pts, and Cruz Gonzalez Smith-Mariano Heuser, 21.0 pts.

Top three teams are closely followed by a solid group of five boats, getting 27.0 to 37.0 pts, including first non Argentinean team Jason Hess & Nicolas Schargorodsky, from Guatemala, ranked 6th, and first mixed crew Ian Rodger-Eugenia Bosco, ranked 7th.

It is then to note the misfortune of mixed Chilean team Pablo Gallyas & Isidora Urrutia, who broke their boom during race 5, and who scored two DNC (42.0 pts) accordingly, stepping back from 9th to 21st place…

Weather forecast announces 30+ knots for tomorrow, making the scheduled races uncertain. Whatever the case, the Race Team led by Teodoro “Kiko” Kundig will do its best to provide sailors with excellent racing, as he did from the very beginning of the Championship.
